SAM MRVOS

Sam Mrvos was hired in the summer of 2007 to be the Head Recruiter for the USA Hockey Southeastern District. In this role, Sam will concentrate on recruitment of players from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Sam, a native of Dormont, PA, played varsity hockey at Keystone Oaks High School prior to Pitt. He played four years in the Pitt Hockey program, serving as a captain for three of those four years. Sam was also involved in management of the program on the student board for two seasons.

Sam graduated from Pitt in 2002 with a BA in Administration of Justice, and since then has been a police officer with the First District of the Montgomery (MD) County Department of Police. Sam is also a Forward Observer in the National Guard (1/107th FA) and served our country with a tour of duty in Iraq.

Sam is certified as a Level 3 official and a Level 4 coach by USA Hockey, and he currently is coaching Varsity and Junior Varsity Hockey at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, MD.
