Job Function/Responsibilities:
· Announce starting lineups, goals, assists, penalties, and advertisements over the public address system at University of Pittsburgh Men's Ice Hockey home games
· Prepare and play music selection between periods and during stoppages in play
· Provide enthusiasm and entertainment in order to engage the crowd
· Arrive at least one hour before game time in order to properly set up equipment and prepare for the games

Qualfications:
· Sufficient academic background relating to Journalism, Communication, Theater, Broadcasting, Public Relations, and other areas where organization, planning, and presentation are important skills
· Demonstration of an aptitude to communicate in an organized, articulate, and engaging manner
· The game announcer should have some understanding of the rules of ice hockey

Benefits:
· The Game Announcer will serve as an officially appointed staff member of University of Pittsburgh Men's Ice Hockey
· The Game Announcer will receive mention on the official website at www.pitthockey.com and in the club's annual program book.
· The Game Announcer will be reimbursed for any and all General Manager/Board authorized expenses.
· This position is strictly voluntary, however, may be used toward earning academic credit.

Rules and Regulations:
· The Game Announcer does not have the authority to enter into any contracts, leases, alliances, partnerships, or any other kind of agreements on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh.
· Furthermore, the General Manager/Board of Directors must approve any and all expenditures that are to be paid from a University of Pittsburgh account.
· The Game Announcer may not make any public representations about the University of Pittsburgh and/or the Men's Ice Hockey Team unless the representation is already public knowledge and is readily available on the official Pitt Hockey website (www.pitthockey.com) or through official team press releases.
